The thermostat is a very important component in the system as it is the unit that controls everything. There is a wide range of thermostat to choose from. Heatwell can supply and install any one of these brands such as Eberle, Legrand, Clipsal, Gira, Honeywell and Siemans to name but a few. These thermostats all behave very similarly with the odd exception. Some of them are good at certain things and lack other characteristics. For this reason Heatwell have with a partner abroad developed our own custom thermostats.

These thermostats are called Digital Circuit Intelligent (DCiP) thermostats that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also fulfills in our clients requirements. We identified the following functions the thermostat should fulfill in addition to the norm.
- Programmed to reduce and increase the temperature at certain times of the day
To enhance the energy saving capabilities of the heating system the DCiP thermostats have four Programmable Modes which can be preprogrammed. These modes reduce the temperature of the floor while the room is unoccupied and increase the temperature according to your schedule. Thus resulting in a saving if energy of approximating 30% due to the fact that the floors never need to be re-heated from scratch.
- Manual override programmed setting.
The Programmable Modes can be manually overridden to accommodate your needs.
- Measures floor or room temperature or both.
In certain cases it may be required to measure both floor and room temperature especially in cases were a secondary heat source i.e. an air conditioner is used.
- Display working status.
A symbol on the LCD which indicates the working status of the thermostat.
