Before Installation
  1. Due to the fact that we import from England and Germany the quotation is only valid for 30 days. A retention deposit of 10% will secure current price.
  2. New floor toppings must cure before heating elements are fitted.
  3. The screed must be level, smooth, free of any dust, paint, oil, grease, glue or bitumen.
  4. Any required change to the quotation must be noted on the quotation, signed and faxed back to our offices.
  5. All fixtures should be fitted first i.e. wall tiles, ceilings, cupboards, toilets, showers, doorstops, bath, basin etc. before heating elements are installed
  6. Should you choose the Heatwell range of digital programmable thermostats, a 3x3 electrical box must be installed by your electrician. These boxes can be obtained from any electrical wholesaler or collected from Heatwell’s offices at no extra charge. A 4x4 box is required for the normal analog thermostats.
  7. Electrical boxes must be installed at light switch height and be connected with conduit to the floor for heater connections.
  8. Installation will not commence if the quotation is not signed and faxed to Heatwell's offices together with proof of payment of the deposit which amounts to 50% of the quotation..

After Installation
  1. Once the heating elements are laid, they will be monitored with Heatwell Continuity Testers (HCT). The HCT will sound an alarm if the element is damaged. The party involved must phone the number on the HCT ASAP for a Heatwell agent to come and repair the element. Heatwell will provide this service free of charge and will only charge AA traveling rates. However if the alarm is ignored Heatwell will charge (See Note) to find and fix the break. Please note the floor at this stage is tiled and with the help of special equipment we can pin point the break but tiles must be lifted. Thus we urge you to act on the alarms.
  2. Do NOT allow any tools/objects of any kind to stand on top of the heating elements.
  3. There should be no traffic of any kind over the heating units.
  4. Tiling can only commence 8 hours after the heating elements have been laid. Tiling must commence with utmost care at all times in one session over the heaters.
  5. No tiles are to be lifted whatsoever, if tiles need to be lifted contact your professionally trained Heatwell agent to assist in lifting tiles.
  6. Heaters are not to be switched on for long periods until two weeks after the tiles have been laid, so that the tile adhesive can cure.
  7. The installer of the topping must ensure he is satisfied with the element installation before commencing as Heatwell can not accept responsibility for the overlaying surface.
Under Carpet Heating
  1. Solid base furniture or mattresses must never be allowed to rest directly on top of a heater when switched on.
  2. When Steam Cleaning your carpets switch off the under carpet heating and DO NOT switch the under carpet heating on to dry the carpets. The chemicals used can discolor the carpet.
  3. Underfelt of a minimum 1000/1200 gram is recommended.
All heating panels must be earthed and must be protected with an Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker.

PLEASE NOTE: If cover (see 9) was not arranged a service call fee will be charged at R350 per call out plus R250 per hour, should your tiler or any other third party damage the heating elements. AA traveling rates to apply.
