Why the need for a comparison in the first place? Well, because underfloor heating
utilises a totally different method of heat transfer and therefore performs in quite a
unique manor.
|
|
Underfloor heating
Underfloor heating heats up a large floor area, the result is a soft heat that
gently rises from the ground up. Evenly heating up the air above. The nett result
is a comfortable room with the lower level slightly warmer than the upper level.
Resulting in your feet being warmer than your head. This is what makes underfloor
heating so popular. The same way the sun heats up the earth underfloor heating will
heat up your room.
|
|
Conventional heaters
Conventional heaters heat up the air surrounding them resulting in concentrated areas of heat that rises up. Thus creating a circular flow of air where your head is warmer than your feet. A lot of the warm air is wasted on areas higher up in the room that are not utilized. Cold floors have the habit of "gripping" the cold air in the areas where we operate in.
